I visited China in October 2007 for the first time. Here is a typical traditional house in Yu Gardens, Shanghai. The curving shapes of the roof are built so to ward off evil spirits according to Buddhist tradition.

Why blog?
Day one: creation. I've visited a few blogs and now the time has come to create my own to build my web 2.0 skills and explore the new technologies that are part of our information landscape. This exploration of technology has been initiated by a work project however I have been contemplating participating in blogging for some time. As a creative person who enjoys recording my thoughts and feelings in diaries and letters and taking endless photographs the idea of blogging is an attractive one! I hope to be able to share my creativity and keep in touch with people.
